I bought this blender to bring to work, and of course the cheap price is what attracted me (since I was leaving it there). I make supplement shakes every day for lunch with frozen fruits in it. This blender makes the best shakes BY FAR! I have a $150 Cuisinart blender at home, and even that does not compare to how smooth and fast this blender works. I really love this blender. It has a lot of power, will chop up ice cubes and frozen fruit without any trouble. I find that sometimes the mixture will get stuck, but that usually means I need to add more liquid to whatever I'm blending, such as protein shakes. There are quite a few options for speeds, and the ice breaker pulse button is useful. It is easy to clean - comes apart quickly into just a few parts which can be dropped in the dishwasher. But be careful with the glass jar; it's generally very strong, but after two years of use, I broke mine when I let it slip into the dishwasher. Luckily, we already had a second blender in the same model.

When I first used this blender, I thought it was more or less like any other blender until I ran out of powdered sugar. I was in the middle of cooking and realized I did not have any powdered sugar, but had regular sugar. I poured in the amount I needed and it ground it to a fine powder! I was truly amazed. When I tasted it, it did not taste like the powdered sugars I had been using. I then realized that in commercial powdered sugar corn starch is added and this was the difference in taste. I also used it to grind coffee beans just to see if it could handle the job and suprisingly enough it did! From then on I was sold!

I went through about 6 different filters in my two year olds life and this one has been the best. It is easy to keep sanatized since you can throw the dome and tray in the dishwasher and the humming noise helps my son sleep through the night. He even turns it on and off himself. It is easy to refill and replace the filter and the filters are inexpensive (about $6). It will leak if you move it with the dome on, quite a bit, but if you take the dome off it will be ok. I have put a towel under it on occasion from transfering it. And it won't turn off if the water is empty but I don't want it too and run this emtpy in the summer just for the noise.

This humidifier is okay. It does the job for small rooms. It only has two settings. It's also a little louder than I would like. The tank is cumbersome and kind of difficult to fill. But it does work well and a full tank can last more than 24 hours. It's a decent buy for the money.

Hamilton Beach has started us all down the slippery slope by using "mist" in the name of a non-ultrasonic humidifier. That's already alarming, but I already knew this was a filter-type. (Rest assured, by the time the filter's grungy, the only available replacement filters will be for newer models with slightly different filter dimensions.) Reviews indicated this unit is reasonably quiet, but like most import units, it has a small, overworked fan that makes lots of turbulence, and therefore lots of noise. On the flip side, that urgent little fan does move quite a bit of air, and the unit is built very solidly. Even so, if I had it to do over again, I'd spend a little more for a fanless model.

This is a lightweight little pan. I actually haven't cooked with it yet, but it'll do the job fine I'm sure. Not heavy and I'm sure professional/serious cooks would laugh at it (in fact I can see some imperfections just looking at it) but it's fine for me to cook eggs, etc without poisoning myself with teflon, which I'm moving away from. Can't beat the price.

** Update November 2009. Changed from 4 stars to 5 stars. Just bought my second one to have two. Now I don't have to wash it constantly to use it so often. The second one appears sturdier and heavier actually. Maybe they improved it. I love it.

This is a great waffle maker.

As far as durability, I think it is best to say that mine has hundreds of hours on it and is still as good as the first day I used it.

I use a cooking spray (butter flavored Crisco works best for me) and have never ever had a waffle stick. I did try to rely on the non-stick coating once, and that is NOT a smart thing to do. That is true of any waffle iron I have used. Use a cooking spray!

This device is 650 watts (about 5.5 amps on a 120V U.S. electric outlet). This is good, because most (check your own first) kitchen circuits can handle 15 or 20 amps. I use both the older on and this one at the same time. If you have the 20-amp circuit, you could use three!

I stated that I use two, because using two of these inexpensive waffle makers is much faster than using a large griddle multi-waffle iron. My friend has one of those, four at a time, waffle makers, but each of the four waffles is a bit small. Some of those big waffle-makers cost 60-100 dollars. Get your self two of these models instead. Trust me. It is faster and cheaper. The other bonus is that the chance of both irons being broke the same day is slim, and even if one breaks (unlikely though) it will mean that you lose only 20 bucks, and that you can still make the kids or yourself waffles with the remaining one! I don't like putting my eggs all in basket so to speak.

I have a fully stainless kitchen, but a waffle maker is usually something I put back in the cabinet, so the white and red finish doesn't phase me.

Well good luck with yours, and I hope that you save some money and get these instead of the big fancy ones that make good waffles too, but cost more and have stainless steel exteriors.

[HINT: Be careful and you can flip this entire device upside down if you desire that feature in a waffle iron. I do it in a glass pie pan so it can't slip off the counter. It is not designed for that, but nevertheless, some people insist on flipping the iron, and it can do it with no batter leakage or threat to the durability of the unit, just be careful.]

UPDATE: They now make the model 26500 (I have both this one and the newer 26500) which makes thicker BELGIAN style waffles. Most people like the thicker ones more, but the irons are exactly the same except for the depth of the cooking area and the newer model has a 3 prong electrical plug. This older model is a bit easier to clean, although neither is a hassle at all.

I purchased this iron about 2 years ago because it was advertised as "NO LEAK". After intermittent use it started leaking like a sieve. Otherwise I did like the iron. So, like a fool I went out and bought the same iron again thinking this one was just defective. This time, besides leaking again, when I used the steam black water came out all over my clothes. And YES I always used bottled water. I do not iron very frequently but when I do it is usually dress clothes which makes it twice as bad. I will now look for an iron with many good reviews and purchase one of those no matter the cost. I'm never going to just choose one off the store shelf again.

Bought this the first week of December and thought it was great! Two weeks later the retractable cord mechanism broke. Not just broke as in it stopped retracting, but broke as in pieces of black and clear plastic started coming out of the cord opening. Never really had a problem with the thing leaking but the steam features always worked.... that is until the iron just stopped heating up altogether 3 months later. I just wish I could find the dang receipt and return it to WalMart!!! This is not what I expected or paid for!!!

"Much Better Experience Than Most" 2007-12-13

Unlike most, I've had a much better experience than most with this iron. I've had it for almost two years now, and it still heats up and works. Note, however, that I take very good care of my irons. I only use distilled water, I turn the iron on for two minutes before attempting to use the steam function (as the manual advises), and I run about a cup of white vinegar through it about once a year to clean out the mineral deposits for the times when I didn't/couldn't use distilled water.

I have experienced many of the complaints that others have stated about the iron. To get any wrinkles out, you pretty much have to put the iron on the highest temperature setting. That makes the iron useless for any delicate fabrics, as it will melt them. The spray nozzle is a bit erratic, but come on, it's a spray nozzle. You're not going to get a lot of accuracy out of that. Those are the complaints that I could work around. The steam function is also very erratic, but I just keep hitting the steam button and that gives me the steam I need.

I only have a few complaints that I couldn't get around or that are too annoying to gloss over. For one, the teflon coating on the iron plate is oddly difficult to clean. If you get anything on it, like plastic from a shirt with a big graphic on it, you have to wait for the iron to completely cool off, then use a pad or soft brush to clean the plate so that it will not reheat any residual crud. If you do not clean off the plate, the residual crud will reheat, melt, and smear unto your next garment.

The iron stays very hot for a long time after unplugging it. This is annoying for me as ironing my clothes is the last thing I do before heading to work, so I can't put the iron on my door-mounted holder thingy because it's still too hot.

Other than that, this is a great iron. I can say that this is the only iron that has never leaked on me. Nothing is more annoying than ironing your clothes and getting huge smears of water all over whatever you're ironing, which will inevitably leave a water spot unless you're using distilled water. For most of my regular clothes that can handle the high temperature, it gets all of the wrinkles out.

The only reason I'm getting rid of the iron is that the internal parts are beginning to rust. This is my fault for not always emptying out the reservoir when I was through with it, but the first time I ironed a big rust stain unto one of my $75 shirts, I was too mad to remember that. Irons are like cars: Once you can't trust them to function correctly anymore, you might as well just suck it up and buy a new one if you can afford it.

This is just another steam iron. I've had mine for almost two years and it has the problems that all steam irons have. It's no longer drip free, although for the first year it was. While it does produce an above average amount of steam, the shot of steam function has isn't limitless and I haven't been able to "vertically steam" any hanging garment. I drain the water compartment after every use, yet mysteriously it occasionally leaks. The retractble cord occasionally gets hung up. The small door to the water compartment is fragile and should be treated as such.

On the plus side, the iron heats quickly, is stylish and easy to handle.

That said, no I won't buy another one.

"Looks nice, doesn't iron well" 2007-10-29

An iron is supposed to do two things: Get hot, and be flat. Guess which one this one does?

It definitely has features that I'll look for in my next iron- I love the little heat sensor near the hot part of the iron... it gets red when it's hot and turns black once it's cool enough to put away. The retractable cord is nice in theory, but ends up being more trouble than it's worth (it is tricky to make it retract all the way). This thing has a huge heat problem though (or should it be "cold problem"?) ... it gets reasonably hot but has trouble maintaining heat. I suppose if you iron one thing per day you might not notice, but I ironed two pair of pants and the thing was dead for heat about halfway through the second pair.

The steam burst feature is pretty nice (good "whoosh" of steam), but even after I tried turning that off (thinking it might be heating the water and not the flat part), it still didn't help. All in all I would recommend you look for a better rated iron than this one.

I hate to be negative, but this product is useless. It's very slow--you could hand grate cheese much, much faster. Also, it does not work as a mini food processor/chopper at all, because of the way the cup is set up. Only as a not very efficient chopper. The description on the Amazon site is insufficient, as is the documentation that comes with the item. Do not waste your money. I had to give it one star to get my review accepted, but it doesn't deserve any.

"BASIC COOKER But WORKS GREAT" 2009-08-03

This is a very attractive but very basic cooker. What I mean by that is, it has nothing digital on it, no timer, no temperature gauge not even a power light "which would have been nice". It has a hand knob with off, warm, low and high on it, nice and simple. It has a heavy crock that fits inside and a attractive glass cover. It also has a very attractive silver and black exterior.

I am glad that I bought the oval cooker instead of the round one, it seems to hold a larger piece if meat in it. It really does not have to be watched when cooking. The heat comes from around the sides instead of the bottem, so nothing to burn on the bottem. Meat comes out more tender by cooking it on low for a longer period of time, as apposed to cooking on high for a shorter time. I love pot roast, that is one of the main reasons I go it. It will hold up to about a 4 lb. roast, more than enough for my wife and I. So far it has worked out well, and I am very happy with it. If you look around you will probably find a better price on this as I did.

I gave this 5 stars not because this is the best slow cooker out there " I don't know that " but because it is doing every thing I expected it to do when I bought it.

What can you expect from a pan costing $4.60 (including super saver shipping)? More than you might expect. Here is some of the warranty and use information regarding the 1 quart pan, which does not include a lid:

1. There is a limited 10-year warranty, with terms completely spelled out and including full manufacturer's address, phone number (toll free) and web address.

2. The pan is fairly lightweight and small. I purchased it as an inexpensive, extra pan for melting butter and making gravy. I'm not sure that I would want a full set of these.

3. There are detailed instructions provided for storage, cleaning the pan and appropriate cooking temperatures to use. Recommended cleaning is hand washing with soapy water, but I run mine through the dishwasher, top shelf, with no problems. Because of the handle, this pan can only be used on a stovetop.

This product is nice, but you have to be careful. I read the instructions and it is best not to have this sauce pan stacked with other pans. This is unfortunate for people who have limited space and can't store this in a special spot, we need to stack our pots and pans, other than that it's nice. I just have to be very careful.

First I am sure the other reviewer had a bad toaster. The one I got works fine. A slight press of the lever starts the toaster. The toast level control works fine as well. What I really like about this toaster is its ability to easily handle bagels with its extra wide slots. Most of the outside of the unit remains cool while toasting. It has a smooth finish and cleans easily with the wipe of a sponge. The bottom has a door that opens to remove accumulated crumbs. Finally, the price is a steal.

I had a wonderful toaster, for years that finally bit the dust. I went to a local store to replace my old faithful 'T-Fal Avante Deluxe' toaster. The store didn't carry T-Fal so being in a hurry I bought this Proctor Silex toaster. I immediately found out I had made a bad choice. I guess you get what you pay for. The toaster does not toast well at all. I had to turn the dial selector to almost the max to get it to toast the bread. It takes a long time to toast and does not toast evenly. I haven't even tried a bagel because it can't even handle bread. The knob you push down to toast does not stay down unless you slam it down, several times; if you don't it pops back up as soon as you let go of it. Don't waste your money, drive to another store if this is the only toaster they offer.

"Nice pot, but had an odor when new" 2008-06-30

Now that I'm cooking for two again, I thought it was time to try crock pot cooking again. After purchasing Beth Hensperger's "Not Your Mothers Slow Cooker Recipes for Two", I realized that a smaller cooker might be nice to have. I love the size and oval shape. Its light weight and easy for me to get out of that storage spot above the refrigerator...

I bought this to use while waiting for the replacement for my other "crockpot" that has been recalled. There's only one thing that bothers me... there is an odd odor around this pot. At first I thought it was the new appliance smell, maybe after using it, it would go away... It didn't. This weekend I made some Boston Baked Beans, hubby complained that he could taste the odd taste in the beans. I keep sniffing... I think it's the gasket on the lid. If the odor doesn't dissapate soon, this pot will have to go...

UPDATE:After on year of use: I thought the odor finally went away, but it really hasn't, I am still using the pot, I love its shape, size and features. My husband called Hamilton Beach, spoke to a representative about the odor. They promptly replaced the lid. Impressive service!

I think the new lid has the same odor, what a shame... Now we have two lids, hubby ripped the gasket off of the first lid, I will try the pot without the gasket, possibly it will seal with the water vapor as the other brands do.

I'd like to change my rating to 4 stars.

I researched quite a few crock pot cookers before I found this one. I can still remember my mother pulling out her huge Rival crock pot as a kid, and all of the wonderful soups we made together. That is why I decided to try slow cooking now that I am a mother to a very active 2 1/2 year old daughter. I received this for Christmas, and have already made three complete meals, including vegetable beef soup, lasagna, and basil alfredo chicken (yummy and moist). It is really easy to clean, and the low and high settings seem to match the recommended cooking lengths in my books. I love the insulated travel case, and the oval shape allows room on the counter while cooking. I highly recommend this as a "starter" crock pot (I am already considering investing in a larger one). Enjoy!

It's definitely cheap and a bargain. The blades are great but there will be some chunky bits at the sides and you have to shake the jar a bit to ensure a smooth texture at the end. I tried using it to make sauces and that doesn't work very well.

However, all the jug parts were detachable and it's very easy to clean.

I liked the small footprint and low price of this blender. And it seemed to do well even crushing frozen strawberries for smoothies, but the parts do not fit snuggly together and I think this caused it to break. The entire spinning mechanism under the jug splintered and sent out acrid smoke one morning and that was it for this blender. It is worth it to get a slightly pricy model made with hardier materials.

I bought this iron after seeing all the positive reviews and since it was included on a recent Amazon 4-for-3 sale. I wish I'd looked at similar Proctor-Silex iron reviews such as the Easy Press Retractable Cord Lightweight Iron because this iron definitely has the same major problem...it leaks water all over your clothes! Any time you have water in the reservoir and bring the iron from upright to horizontal to iron, a fair amount of the water just drips right on the clothes. Not sure if this is a specific defect with the iron I got and others haven't noticed it, but it is very obvious on my model, and the other reviews mentioning it on the similar model would indicate a design flaw. It's a shame, as I love the retractable cord option, but I need an iron that also works properly, and this one simply does not.

This is one of the bet irons I have had. I heats up quickly, and does not have a lot of fancy features. It is very lightweight and I feel mush less fatigue. The retractable cord is a lifesaver, because I was always tripping over the cord and always worried about a potential accident. I dont have to worry about cord clutter when storing also.

After our first trip in Ireland and the UK together and seeing these electric kettles in almost every B&B, my husband and I had to have one for the house as we are both all day tea drinkers. This model from Proctor Silex has held up well for 3 years of daily water boils--usually a dozen times a day or more. It automatically shuts off after the water boils. About half a kettle takes approx 1.5 minutes to boil. I've no complaints about this staple of our kitchen. Besides boiling hot water quickly for beverages or soups, etc it is also handy to boil water in first before adding it to a pot on the stove, cuts down on total cooking time.

I bought this kettle in February 2006. I liked everything about it until its automatic ON-OFF switch died recently - only two months after the purchase. Now the kettle won't turn on. It wasn't abused in any way, and these kettles usually last for years and years. The last one of similar kind served me well for 12 years until it started to leak and was replaced with this spanking new Proctor Silex K4070.

I wonder if my bad experience with this kettle was unique? Has anyone else had one with a short-lived switch, or was I unlucky?

"Not the best..." 2009-01-03

I purchased this machine after my older and smaller Hamilton Beach processor got a crack in the bowl and I decided to upgrade to a larger model. I first tried the the Haier HFP400SS 400-Watt 10-Cup Food Processor, Stainless Steel with Black Trim and found that the motor was not strong enough on that one so I returned it.

I have had the Hamilton Beach Big Foot machine for about a week now and I am not 100% sure it was the best one to buy.

The first thing I tried was the bonus blade (thick slicing). I used potatoes, a smoked sausage link and an onion. These were to make a sort of hash for dinner. The potatoes turned out ok. The slices were not uniform and the way the chute is made, they just would not stay upright without packing the chute to capacity. So some slices cane out long and others round. The sausage failed, some slices, some chunks and some little tiny bits was what I got. I think if I had froze it first maybe it would have worked better. The onion turned out perfect and if I were making onion rings or hamburgers I would have been elated at the perfect slices.

This machine makes a screeching sound when it runs and I'm not sure why. The motor seems fine, it's almost like air is getting into the food chute. It's more annoying than anything. The machine also vibrates sometimes and moves around. The suction cup feet are really great, they do work well at keeping it from jumping right off the counter.

I make some biscuit dough too and was not pleased, it. When cutting the butter into the flour it just seemed like to hard of a job for the machine to handle even though I cut the butter up really small. The machine began to shake and screech.

I sliced some zucchini which came out great in nice thin slices, chopped tomatoes and thin sliced onions came out great too.

Grating cheese - again it seemed to strain the machine. I always grated frozen cheese in my old (much smaller) Hamilton Beach machine but this one seemed to strain while doing it and the cheese came out so fine it was like a powder. I used the shredding blade for carrots and cabbage too and the carrots came out great while the cabbage was way too fine.

Clean up is fairly easy. The lid is a bit tricky by hand but the dish washer seems to get it clean every time. The bowl and the shaft to the chopping blade seem to be very delicate and I am afraid they might not last very long. The plastic is really thin on the blade shaft and the handle on the bowl seems like it could easily crack.

I am pleased with the capacity of this model, the bowl holds a lot.

Also, if you have ever owned a food processor you will have a bit of a learning curve on using the lid on this one, it is a unique design which is great for certain foods like onions but poses a challenge when using thinner smaller foods. It also is easy to lose your grip on which causes the lid to pop off and again, it could crack easily if dropped too hard.

If I'd have had an extra $100 I would have gone for the Kitchen Aid.

I love this product so much that I had to search for it on a couple different websites to tell people how great it is. My husband got it for me for my birthday because I had talked about getting one since we got married three years ago. I used ot to mix the ingredients of a pie crust for chicken pot pie, and it mixed everything perfectly. Then I put all the attachments into the dishwasher and ended up dirtying only one dish rather than the ten I used to dirty while making this crust. I have had this processor for almost 2 years and use it constantly. I bought it to do baby food for my second child and have found numerous uses for it. It processed the food I made well, but it was not a silky-smooth texture without adding a lot of extra liquid. For that purpose, I typically make chunkier purees, adding extra liquid to the frozen cubes upon reheating. That way I could make large batches of baby food that 'grew' with my child once she was out of the 'stage 1' foods. Now off the rabbit trail...

I use my processor to make pie dough, huge batches of cookies, hummus, salsa....pretty much anything. It is super easy to clean and has performed well for these two years with near-daily use. It IS a monster to store, but for me it was worth creating a space for it because I use mine so much. I would say it's footprint is *about* the size of my KitchenAid Classic mixer.

It's an excellent product at an excellent price :)

First, it is very difficult to see the water in the little gauge that shows the amount poured in. So, it is quite easy to over-pour the water into the machine. Also, as it brews, it seems to get coffee and/or remnants of grounds everywhere on the machine--even in the cavity for the water. It is a very messy and not very sturdy machine.

I do not recommend it.

When my 29-year old iron (a G.E. purchased with green stamps) finally rusted out, I had to get a new iron fast. This Proctor Silex Easy Press is reasonably priced and fairly simple to use. I especially like the steam control feature. I haven't experienced any leaking (that another reviewer complained of) and the retractable cord is a nice bonus. Altogether, I'm quite pleased with this product.

It makes good rice. I am going to buy one for my friend and one for my Niece.

I make jasmine rice with it.

I use it 3 times a week.

It has never screwed up my rice.

This is not a fancy rice cooker. It is extremely basic in what it does - cooks rice. It doesn't have fancy settings, there isn't one thing fancy about this cooker. It doesn't even have an on/off switch, which I do find to be irritating, but seriously what do you want for $25? The good rice cookers cost hundreds of dollars, and while I love rice, I don't have that kind of cash to spend on something that only cooks rice. This unit is fast, easy to clean because the basket lifts out and is dishwasher safe, and cooks basic rice very well. The only things I don't like are the lack of the on/off switch, and it does not have an auto shut off. You wouldn't want to put rice in to cook and leave the house, it would be a dried out mess by the time you got home because it automatically goes into "warm" mode after cooking. And when you plug the unit in, it is turned on to "warm" mode, so you have to be sure to remember to flip the switch to "cook" after putting in the water and rice. I was using an old Black and Decker food steamer to make rice before, and this is BY FAR better than that ever was.

I was very disappointed with this product due to the fact it was supposed to be a 10 cup but what I received says 10 but is the same size as all 3 Cups. I had a 10 cup prior and this is not 10 Cup. Iam sorry I wasted my credit monies on this item. Anyone who thinks they are going to get a 10 cup you will be very surprised to see the size this is (VERY SMALL). It is half the size of a real 10 cup. Better to by in person from now on so you can see exact size!

We bought this when our old Krupps started making loud bearing noises.

I really like it. The auto turn off is wonderful. No more holding my finger on the start button.

The cord winder in the base is a great idea. No more tangled power cords.

It is very easy to use. We like strong coffee, so I grind it very fine.

If you did put 12 or more coffee measures in this I think it would overflow, that is the reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

I make 8 cups and it is pretty full after it grinds.

I am going to buy the new Hamilton Beach grinder to grind flax seeds.

I don't think that this model is sold any more, but the new model looks similar.

I didn't care for this grinder. It creates a ton of static when it's grinding so that the grounds stick to the cup, the grinder, your hands, everything, and make mess. It's also a bit of a pain to have to make sure the lid is completely locked before grinding... if you get a bit of grounds in the locking area, it gets very finicky. It also won't grind the beans evenly. I get beans crushed to powder and nearly whole in the same cup.

Really works well when used with a shaking action (like shaking a martini) it throws the ingredients directly at the blade - somehow breaking things up into finer particles, faster. I make a sort of super-concentrated matcha from sencha using this technique.

I have another one that I use to re-grind my cheaper espresso to the exact consistency that I want right before I brew it - you can't rely on the markings on the side, though. I just keep it pegged at the bottom (longest setting). Depending on the consistency (brand) of espresso, I just count how many times the contents 'bounce' inside the grinder. For example - a double shot of Bustelo, ground to perfection (for my espresso maker) bounces 16 times before I shut it off.

It all sounds a bit weird, but I do what it takes to get the results I want. Especially when it comes to stimulant-laden beverages. Bonus: no post-consumer regret - it's between $19-$29 depending on where you buy it!

While this coffee maker doesn't make a bad cup of coffee, there are certainly some major design flaws in its construction. I bought this coffee maker at KMart as a gift for my mother. Within the first week , one of the cheap plastic hinges broke off of the water reservoir cover. If you try to make over 6 cups of coffee, the coffee basket pops out of position but still will fill up with water and overflow onto the counter if you are not careful. I solved this problem by using a rubber band long enough to go around the basket and water reservoir. I must add that the programmable feature still works OK and the coffee maker shuts off automatically after about 2 hours. Even with those features, I would not recommend this product. It is, simply put, a lemon.

The only reason this gets such a low rating has to do with the design of the brew basket. The brew basket does not lock properly in place. You must hold it in place as you remove the carafe - or it will swing out! Sure defeats the "pause & serve" feature! My work around has been to use the carafe from my previous coffee maker. It is the same height, but does not have such a deep impression in the lid. Therefore, it does not pull the brew basket out as you try to get a cup of coffee. I have 'pause & serve', safety, and a not so new carafe.

My wife bought me this coffee maker for Christmas. So I have been using my Procotor-Silex coffee maker for about 4 months. There are two features I particular like with this unit. First, the water resevoir is removable so you can add water easily and accurately. Second, the cup that holds the coffee filter is removable so you can easily clean it.

The timer feature has worked fine the few times I've used it. But to be honest I mostly appreciate the timer as a clock. I have made it to work on time on more then a few occasions courtesy of this feature.

If there is one feature I dislike, it is that the lid to the carafe is not removable and so cleaning it in the dish washer is a bit tricky.

Overall, this is a quiet, reliable coffee maker. I would buy a second one if the need arose.

What a disappointment from a reputable household name. The iron just kept dripping as I was ironing, and some of the heated drops landed on my foot, which hurt. The steam function does not work for clothes that are hung - it only works when the iron is flat on a surface. If left vertical, the iron would spit out water. The iron was hot enough to get wrinkles out, but as the iron dripped, cloth would bubble up, thereby sabotaging any areas that had been flattened successfully. The only good quality I found about this iron was that it could be disassembled into a very compact unit for travel. I will be returning mine soon enough!
